Edna Collings Bridge

The bridge is known as Edna Collins and Enda Collings
My personal experiences at Ednas Bridge back when I was a teenager a group of us went there, parked in the middle of the bridge honked 3 times and shut off lights, we had windows cracked slightly, (it was hot) and car was off. We could hear what sounded like footsteps walking on the gravel behind the car.  I was looking in rear-view mirror, and passenger had visor down and was looking in that mirror we could see a mist. We got spooked started the car and left, when we got back into Greencastle and got out of the car, there were small handprints on the dust on trunk of car.

Edna Collings Bridge
The Edna Collings Bridge, known as one of the famous bridges in Putnam County, is rumored to be one of the most haunted places in Indiana. According to myth, the spirit of Edna Collings began to haunt the bridge after she drowned there in the early 1920s. The bridge, built by her father, James Collings, was christened after the marriage and birth of James and Sarah's fourth child Edna.
As a young girl, Edna would request permission for her parents to take her dog for a swim in the Little Walnut Creek that ran behind the bridge. The Collings would drop their daughter and dog off at the creek in Greencastle and would indicate their return later by honking their car horn. One day, when her parents came to pick her up and honked their horn, Edna did not respond. Despite multiple honks, Edna did not answer. Her parents, scared, left the car to look for her only to find her dog near the creek. The dog then led the Collings to where Edna's body was in the creek.
To this day, visitors have said to witness seeing the ghost of the young girl behind the bridge with her dog, waiting for her parents' return.

The Edna Collins Covered Bridge crosses Little Walnut Creek on County Road 450 North in Putnam County. This single span Burr Arch Truss structure has a length of 80 feet, or 96 feet including the 8-foot overhang at each end, is 15 feet wide and 13 feet 6 inches high. Built in 1922 by Charles Hendrix to replace a concrete bridge that washed out, the Edna Collins Covered Bridge was constructed of Mississippi pine and is about 1 mile northwest of Clinton Falls.
The Edna Collins Covered Bridge is "generally" considered haunted ... it is said that sometime in the early 1920's a little girl would swim in the stream, which the bridge crosses. At the end of the day her parent would drive into the covered bridge, turn off the motor, and honk three times telling the little girl it was time to leave. One day the something had happened to the little girl causing her to drown. They say that if at night you drive into the bridge, turn off the motor, and honk three times the little girl will come and try to get in the car.
